St Andrew's Age UK Community Warden Scheme
The community warden scheme provides a visiting and contact service to those who are lonely, housebound or incapacitated.
St Andrew's has taken a lead role in partnership with Age UK Cambridgeshire & Peterborough in setting up the scheme. Representatives of the Church Council are on the steering group responsible for its supervision.
Users of the scheme pay a low weekly fee for regular visits, phone calls and assistance. The bulk of the cost of the scheme is met through donations and fund raising.
We are very grateful to the Stapleford Parish Council for their very significant financial assistance, without which the scheme would not have been possible.
The village warden is Juliet Hawksworth. She started work in March 2022. She can be reached on 07436 102733 or juliet.hawksworth@ageukcap.org.uk.
A leaflet with more details of he scheme is here.
