Some members of St Andrew's Choir recorded during lockdown 2020

We are a really friendly and well-established choir, which meets to practise in church every Thursday at 7 pm.

The choir sing at:

  • regular services on Sunday mornings at 10.30 am
  • festival services all year round
  • occasional Evensongs
  • Advent Carol Service
  • service of Nine Lessons & Carols
  • Palm Sunday evening - concert performance of a sacred piece of music
  • weddings
  • other occasional events
It's a lot, but members are not expected to turn out for everything - if you would like to sing, but cannot commit to everything we will almost certainly be able to make it work. There are more than twenty-five singers made up of the usual four parts.

The Director of Music is John Bryden. For more information his contact details are here. Or you can contact the church here

The Chorister's Prayer

Bless, O Lord, us thy servants, who minister in thy temple.
Grant that what we sing with our lips, we may believe in our hearts,
and what we believe in our hearts, we may show forth in our lives,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
