Action before Crisis: help turn the tide for teenagers
Every child should have the right to grow up safe, happy, and hopeful. But right now, too many teenagers are struggling unnoticed. They’re at crisis point. It’s up to all of us to turn the tide and ask the new government to focus on early intervention and prevent teenagers being swept into crisis.
That's why the latest campaign from The Children's Society - Action before Crisis - is calling on the UK government to:
-
Act to overturn the decline in children’s mental health and wellbeing
-
Better protect teenagers from harm
-
Commit to ending child poverty
How you can help:
St Andrew's is proud to support #ActionBeforeCrisis - and you can support it too with just a few clicks, by sending a digital postcard to your MP and asking them to act now so that young people have the support they need to thrive.
Partnership Lead Rob Needle said: "We had great success with our Lent Appeal in support of the Children at the Table campaign, raising over £300, with lots of church members also signing the online petition for the government to consider.
"The next stage of the campaign is for us to reinforce the message to our own MPs.
"I'm pleased to say that people from St Andrew's have already sent a digital postcard to MP Pippa Heylings, our MP for South Cambridgeshire constituency but we want more people to join in.
"The Children's Society website makes it simple to find your local MP and then send them a digital postcard - it couldn't be easier. So please forward the links and encourage your friends and family to do likewise!"
