Thank you for supporting our 'Guardian Angel' Lent campaign

Paper 'Guardian Angels' purchased as a result of our Lent campaign for The Children's Society
The funds have now all been counted - and you helped us raise an amazing £535 for this year's 'Guardian Angel' Lent campaign.

We wanted to support The Children's Society's work to ensure that every unaccompanied child refugee arriving in England and Wales is allocated a guardian to help them navigate the asylum system, and with attending school or college, accessing social services and mental health support.

To raise funds for this, we asked people to ‘buy’ a paper ‘Guardian Angel’, which were then displayed on the Church’s noticeboard at St Andrew's throughout Lent. (See photo.)

It's a really simple idea, but effective - in fact this was our biggest fundraiser ever for The Children's Society!

Partnership lead Rob Needle said: “This campaign really captured people's imagination, and when I said at the start of Lent it would be great if paper angels are literally flying off the noticeboard by Easter Sunday, that's more or less what happened!

"We're all very grateful for everyone's support, thank you to everyone who donated."
